Today’s post is short. I just stumbled across Mashable’s video on #uglyproduceisbeautiful and find the concept welcoming and a huge relieve. Seeing such ideas really makes me happy. Basic consumer behavior and partly economy dictates that we must have the best in what we buy, why should we reject those that aren’t perfect? Coming from an age where my mom would always buy vegetables that are rejected by vendors just cause they have holes – due to worms which is due to a lack of pesticide. I learned to appreciate what’s not perfect but still guilty of not buying stuff that isn’t perfect just because we want the best of things. Sarah Philips give those rejected fruits of labour a new leaf. Visit the instagram page to support this movement, and change the way the industry operates. I’m just happy to see such a large movement to reduce food waste and at the same time give meaning to waste.
